With the arrival of the new map version, 6.68, being eagerly anticipated, IceFrog has dropped a little update on the community.
ESWC is fast approaching, kicking off at the end of June. The current rules state that the map version used will be the most stable version released 15 days prior to the tournament. Having this in mind, perhaps IceFrog believes that 6.68 will be that map and with new content, it’ll add an edge to the competition.
Along with various unnamed improvements and features, IceFrog intends to release a number of new, high-quality heroes. The hero Phoenix has been leaked out to the public, but what else does the amphibian have in store? Many will be hoping that the new heroes will echo the competitive success of heroes such as Batrider and Kunkka, rather than the “pub stomping” heroes of Ancient Apparition and Murloc, which were released most recently.
As always, IceFrog encourages the community to send him a message voicing what it wishes to see in the upcoming version. Needless to say, many hope this will be the best version yet!
