Amel ‘Playmate’ Barudzija has started a blog and has called for sportsmanship to be displayed in DotA. Meet Your Makers, Amel ‘Playmate’ Barudzija has started a blog and has been quite active updating it, with three entries thus far in a span of 5 days.
Apart from the introductory entry, Playmate’s blog goes more in depth into DotA than most other reputable DotA bloggers. He talks about being dissapointed having to play Australia MCiTY 3 versus 5 as unfortunately two of MCiTY’s players dropped due to patch difference. Also, he mentions that he enjoyed his game against Ukraine DTS.Chatrix, as DTS are in camp playing on LAN so they had very good teamplay. Last but not least, he emphasizes sportsmanship within the game of DotA. In his opinion, sportsmanship should extend to e-sports where a simple ‘gg’ from the losing team would suffice.
Few words from Amel ‘Playmate’ Barudzija’s blog:
every single player in sports should show sportsmanship, act with respect and say gg (even though you sometimes dont mean it). Reason why i pick on freezer is cuz it is a norm in sports such as football to shake hands and say thx for the games so why not e-sports? Some would say you cant compare but this is a game, a competition and whether it is win or lose you do it with attitude.
