The long awaited clash of the western titans is finally upon us as DDT faces off against Nirvana.int in the Farm 4 Fame 2.5 playoff final later tonight.

Farm4Fame

Team News:

The game we have all been waiting for these past few months is coming up very shortly in tonight’s Farm 4 Fame 2.5 playoff finale. Touted as the top two DotA teams in the West currently, Ducky’s Dream Team & Nirvana.International and will be facing off against each other for the first time in an official tournament. A couple of months ago, Jonathan ‘Loda’ Berg said in his blog that his team defeated Clement ‘Puppey’ Ivanov’s all-star crew during practice. On paper, DDT seems to hold a slight advantage as they have yet to lose a game this month while Nirvana.int’s winning streak has been unceremoniously ended by DTS.Chatrix in Pick-League XIII.

The Farm4Fame: Second Blood relegation stage is well underway, with OK triumphing over DTS and LAN over SGC.

Relegation teams
Denmark MYM (11)
Australia MCiTY sGty (7)
Europe Online Kingdom (5)
Germany Local Area Network (4)
Slovakia Storm Games Clan (4)
Europe DTS Chatrix (3)

The six teams fighting for survival in the relegation leg of this tournament are all trying to claim to final two spots for the final round, joining Nirvana.int and DDT. MYM and MCiTY are the closest contenders to these two powerhouses, but one cannot write off a side such as OK, who have been performing tremendously well in their last couple of matches. All games will follow a best of three format. The five games played between OK, DTS, LAN and SGC have all been shoutcasted by TobiWan, with OK vs. DTS Game Three being his personal recommendation.

Coming into the tournament, Ks.Int was seen as the number 1 team in the world. Of course, there are always disputes about this as rowdy American fanboys will always say EG is the best even as they have had to remake the team with many leaving not too long ago. And there is always talk of Ravens being a top team, albeit they have struggled lately with a lack of motivation it seems. This tournament would most likely define the new #1 team however, with 4 of the world’s best teams playing [EG, TeG, Ks.int, Ravens]. We saw a powerhouse matchup right off the bat however, with the “new” EG facing off against Ks.int.

The beginning of game 1 started with action right off the bat. Enigma went to jungle like normal in the sentinel jungle, however Ks.Int had him warded at the start. Swy grabs a double damage immediately and goes right to ganking him. BigdaddyG (Swissbeatz) is able to escape, thanks in part to realizing the clarity going off on SK and canceling it, allowing him to escape. SK proved to be somewhat useless when he ventured top for a while, until a nice double kill by PotM was made. Slowly, however, EG gained a small kill advantage by the 12 minute mark.

The EDC finals were recently played between OK and MYM and they consisted of five closely contested games which kept fans at the edge of their seats.

This five game thriller left the players mentally drained and the fans begging for more. Wins were traded between the two sides, with each team probing the other’s weaknesses and capitalising on their mistakes. At the same time, both teams proved themselves as worthy EDC finalists, showing a great deal of determination and personal skill. The game which started this roller-coaster journey would have to be the first and most exciting game of them all.

The next big thing to hit the DotA scene, AEDL, kicked off last night with two powerhouses playing a friendly show match to celebrate the opening of this international inhouse leage.

GAME ONE:

DDT started off with an extremely aggresive line up and it could be seen from get go that they planned to dominate the lane stages, allowing Misery to farm up his Storm in peace. Aeon had other things in mind. Angel and his Mirana encountered great difficulty due to a superb Shadow Fiend from Hyhy. Hyhy was basically allowed to farm as he pleased, even though Miracle stuck his head out the bushes a couple of times to earn the Scourge a hand full of kills.
