With 6.68 released not too long ago, IceFrog has started development on 6.69 and has stated on his blog that 6.69 would be released much faster than 6.68.
Statement from IceFrog’s blog from PlayDota.com
-”Development is underway on the next patch. It won’t take as long to release as the previous version did. Please send me your feedback on 6.68 along with what you’d like to see in 6.69!

So far there has been no information released regarding IceFrog’s latest DotA project with Valve. But now we get a trickle of information via Jon St. John’s, better known as the voice behind Duke Nukem, twitter account.

Once again, Icefrog has made another update for the dota community by the release of 6.68. The much anticipated map has finally been released. In addition to the new gold mechanic of the game, four new heroes and two new items have been introduced.
The first new hero is Guardian Wisp, Io. Io is a ranged strength hero that has two protective skills, an increased attack speed skill and a mobility skill. This hero is most likely to be a carry due to its protective skills and a skill that depends on its base damage.

The final day for ESWC kicks off with the every match having a lot at stake. The days starts off with Nirvana.Int going up against MYM. MYM had defeated Nirvana.Int in the group stage and this was an opportunity for them to take revenge against the Danish team. This match was very crucial for both teams as the loser would be eliminated from the competition. Read more… »

With the arrival of the new map version, 6.68, being eagerly anticipated, IceFrog has dropped a little update on the community.
ESWC is fast approaching, kicking off at the end of June. The current rules state that the map version used will be the most stable version released 15 days prior to the tournament. Having this in mind, perhaps IceFrog believes that 6.68 will be that map and with new content, it’ll add an edge to the competition.
