Today COMPETO conducted an interview with one of the stars in the DotA team Tribal.Int, Baja. In the interview Baja shares his feelings about the LAN The Gathering, about the prizemoney and the teams sponsor.
After interviewing Lacoste, the gaming organization COMPETO now moves to Europe Tribal.Int and one of its main players, Marko Baja Jovanovic. Tribal.Int has endured a lot the last few months. After Playmate and Lacoste left, the team’s winning rate suffered and along with it, their respectful standing in the DotA scene. The team lately joined up in Norway to play in the LAN The Gathering, which had a surprisingly high prizepool for DotA. Tribal.Int managed to won runner-up, losing to Druidz in the winner bracket and the final.
In the interview, Baja describes his feelings about the LAN, the prizemoney which got sliced in half, and the sponsorship from Tribal-Gaming.
The Interview :
Zep went to the Gathering together with you. Will we see him as a Stand-in more often now?
As a Stand-in for sure, as far as it goes for a full team member, only time will tell
It was said, that the prizemoney has been lowered because there haven’t been enough teams. What do you think about this statement? Is it just a fake?
Baja: Yeah I do! The problem couldn’t possibly be any more stupid than it is. As the dota tournament was a BYOC-LAN (bring your own computer) and whole BYOC part on The Gathering was sold out, it doesn’t matter at all, if there are 64 or only 4 teams for the DotA competition as they made maximum amount of cash anyway. Besides that they didn’t give a DotA’s part of money to some other game, they just took it away from DotA and put into their own pockets.
So, you didn’t enjoy the tournament?
Baja: Nope! Neither did druidz, for that matter. We wont come there again for sure and I suggest other DotA teams not to make the same mistake, we did.
